CARE & CLEANING:

• Pre-wear preparation: It is very important that any perfumes, lotions and/or sunscreens are fully dried down before putting on your gold filled & pearl jewellery. The presence of essential oils, solvents and certain color dyes have the potential to erode metal coatings & gemstone lustre making the item appear dull & discoloured.
• Post-wear cleaning - Use any clean and soft cotton cloth to quickly polish your gold filled items and restore shine. There are specialised jewellery polishing cloths available such as Towntalk Gold microfibre cloths. However, some may contain chemicals that are not recommended for gold filled jewellery, so please ensure that they are suitable before use.
• For a more thorough clean, fill a small bowl with lukewarm water and add afew drops of mild detergent. Use a soft toothbrush to lightly scrub your pieces to effectively remove residue/fingerprints. Be sure to rinse thoroughly to remove said detergent and dry with a soft cloth for a bright, shiny finish.

STORAGE:

• Once you have removed your jewellery, tupperware containers are the perfect place to store your gold filled items as they are dry and airtight (tarnishing elements act very slowly in the absence of moisture).
• Store your gold filled jewellery items with care within the box to reduce the risk of scratching. If the outer 14k gold layer of the jewellery is disrupted this can lead to undesirable dulling/tarnishing - note: our complementary felt pouches included with your items are designed for this exact purpose.
